We’re always looking for ways to make the process easier and more efficient. And over the years, we have picked up a few hacks that have made a big difference in my kitchen. If you’re looking for ways to streamline your cooking, here are nine hacks that you’ll wish you knew about sooner.

Kitchen Hacks That Will Change Your Life

1. Two-minute scrambled eggs

Scrambled eggs are a breakfast staple, but they can be tricky to make. If you’re short on time, kitchen hacks can help you make a delicious and nutritious meal in just two minutes. Here’s how:

Start by whisking the eggs in a bowl with a fork or whisk. Then, heat some oil or butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the eggs to the pan and use a spatula to scramble them. Cook for one to two minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

With these kitchen hacks, you can enjoy scrambled eggs any time of day – no fuss, no muss!

2. Longer dessert shelf-life

Desserts are a delicious way to end a meal, but they can also be surprisingly tricky to store. Here’s a kitchen trick to help extend the shelf life of your desserts and keep them tasting fresh.

One key tip is to avoid letting your desserts come into contact with air. This means using airtight containers or covering them tightly with plastic wrap. If you’re storing a cake or pie, you can also wrap the entire dessert in aluminum foil. This will create an extra barrier against air and help to keep your dessert moist.

3. Diversity of ice cube trays

One of the kitchen hacks that we love is using an ice cube tray to make food. You can use it to make all sorts of different things. Here are some of our favorite things to make in an ice cube tray:

4. Chocolate peanut butter cups

Simply fill the compartments with chocolate and peanut butter, then freeze until solid.

  • Coconut lime popsicles: Mix together coconut milk, lime juice, and sweetener, then pour into the tray and freeze.
  • Fruit gummies: Puree your favorite fruits, then mix in some gelatin and pour into the tray. Freeze until solid, then cut into cubes.
  • Herb ice cubes: Fill the compartments with water, then add in your favorite fresh herbs. Freeze and use to flavor soups, stews, and sauces.
  • Single serving desserts: Make individual portions of brownies, cakes, or cookies by baking them in an ice cube tray. Just be sure to line the tray with parchment paper first!

5. Unskinned gingers

If you’re looking for a kitchen trick that will make your life easier, look no further than skinning ginger with a spoon. While you can certainly use a knife to remove the skin from ginger, it can be difficult to get a clean cut. And let’s be honest – who has time to be fussy when they’re cooking?

A spoon, on the other hand, is the perfect tool for the job. Simply hold the ginger in one hand and use the back of the spoon to scrape off the skin. In no time at all, you’ll have a beautiful piece of ginger root that’s ready to use in your favorite recipe. Give it a try next time you’re in the kitchen!

6. Time-traveler bananas

If you’ve ever gone to the store only to find that all the bananas are green and unripe, you know the frustration of waiting for them to ripen on their own. Luckily, there are a few kitchen hacks you can use to speed up the process. One way is to place the bananas in a paper bag with a ripe apple or tomato. The ethylene gas emitted by these fruits will help the bananas ripen more quickly.

Another option is to bake the bananas in a 300 degree oven for about 15 minutes. This will turn their skins brown, but the fruit inside will be soft and sweet. So if you’re in a hurry for ripe bananas, don’t despair – there are ways to speed up the process.

7. Berry easy trick

De-stemming strawberries can be a bit of a tedious task, but there’s an easy kitchen hack that can make the process much simpler.

All you need is a drinking straw. First, wash your strawberries and remove any leaves. Next, take a straw and insert it into the top of the strawberry, just below the stem. Gently push the straw down until it comes out the bottom of the berry. Finally, give the strawberry a little twist and pull out the straw. The stem should come out along with it, leaving you with a perfectly de-stemmed strawberry.

This kitchen hack is quick, easy, and effective, so next time you need to destem strawberries, reach for a straw!

8. Swimming eggs

If you’re like most people, you probably don’t give much thought to the eggs in your fridge. But did you know that there’s a simple kitchen hack that can help you determine whether an egg is fresh or not?

All you need is a bowl of water. Just place the egg in the water and observe. If the egg sinks to the bottom and lies on its side, it’s fresh. If it sinks but stands up on its end, it’s still perfectly good to eat but not quite as fresh. And if it floats to the top, it’s time to toss it out. So next time you’re wondering whether those eggs are still good, just give this kitchen hack a try.

9. Non-waffle things in a waffle iron

Waffle irons are kitchen essentials, but they often get relegated to breakfast duty. However, waffle irons are extremely versatile and can be used to make all sorts of delicious dishes. Here are some of the best food to make in a waffle iron:

  • Pancakes: Waffle pancakes are deliciously fluffy and only take a few minutes to cook. Simply pour your pancake batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Serve with syrup or your favorite toppings.
  • Grilled cheese: Grilled cheese is a classic comfort food that is even more delicious when made in a waffle iron. Spread your favorite cheese on bread, place in the waffle iron, and grill until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Yum!
  • Pizza pockets: Pizza pockets are a fun and easy way to make personal pizzas. Simply fill a pre-made pizza crust with your favorite toppings, place in the waffle iron, and cook until the crust is golden brown. So good!

As you can see, there are endless possibilities when it comes to making food in a waffle iron. So don’t limit yourself to breakfast – get creative and explore all the deliciousness!
